GetLiving properties in East Village use a key fob system for secure, keyless access.
Your fob controls access to your building, your apartment, and some shared areas such as lifts and car parks. You’ll be given at least one fob when you move in.
This page explains how key fobs work, how to use them day to day, and what to do if something goes wrong.
What your key fob does
Your key fob is used to:
- Enter your building
- Access secure lifts
- Unlock your apartment door
- Access certain communal or restricted areas
Access permissions are set by GetLiving and can be updated remotely if needed.
Using your key fob
Entering the building
- Hold your fob against the reader by the entrance
- When authorised, the door will unlock
- Push the door to enter
- Doors lock automatically after a short delay
Exiting the building
- Press the “Press to Exit” button near the door
- If this doesn’t work, press the green Emergency Door Release button
- Security is automatically alerted when emergency release is used
Using the lifts
- On ground and basement levels, hold your fob against the lift reader
- Upper floors do not require a fob
- Visitors can only use lifts with a temporary PIN code
Entering your apartment
- Hold your fob against the reader above the handle
- When the light turns green, press the handle to open
- The door locks automatically when closed
Opening the door from inside
- Press the black button on the door panel
- The handle will release and the door can be opened
If your key fob isn’t working
If your fob stops working:
- Contact GetLiving Resident Services
- In most cases, fobs can be reprogrammed remotely
- Replacement fobs may be issued if needed
Mechanical emergency release (inside the apartment)
If the system fails due to a power or battery issue:
- Press and hold the small metal button below the black release button
- Push the handle down to open the door
- Once resolved, report the issue or replace batteries as advised
This is for emergencies only.
Visitor access
When a visitor arrives:
- They call your apartment number from the entry panel
- You receive the call on your video entry handset
- If you’re happy to let them in, follow the on-screen instructions to release the door
Visitors can use stairs freely. Lift access requires a temporary PIN code, which Get Living can provide.
When to contact Get Living
Contact GetLiving if you have:
- A lost or faulty key fob
- Access issues to your building or apartment
- Problems with lift or door access
- Questions about visitor or car park access
