Moving In and Moving Out

Moving In and Moving Out

GetLiving manages move-ins and move-outs for their rental homes in East Village.
This page explains what typically happens when you move in, what to expect when you move out, and where to go for the official steps and confirmations.
It’s intended as a practical overview - always follow instructions from GetLiving for dates, access, and formal requirements.

Moving in

On your move-in day, GetLiving will usually provide:
  • Access to your apartment
  • Key fobs for your building and home
  • Instructions for building access and shared spaces
  • Information about utilities and resident services

You may also be asked to:
  • Collect or confirm key fobs
  • Receive access details for lifts or car parks
  • Confirm contact details

If anything isn’t working when you arrive (access, heating, water, electricity), contact GetLiving as soon as possible so it can be logged and resolved.
We recommend that you take photos of the apartment thoroughly on move-in day.

Setting up your home

After moving in, you’ll normally need to:
  • Set up your resident portal account
  • Check heating and hot water are working
  • Familiarise yourself with your Heat Interface Unit (HIU)
  • Arrange broadband and TV services
  • Review building access and visitor entry
If you notice defects or issues in the first few days, report them promptly via the resident portal.

Moving out

When you’re planning to move out, Get Living will provide formal instructions and timelines.
This usually includes:
  • Your move-out date
  • Access arrangements for inspections
  • Instructions for returning key fobs
  • Cleaning and condition requirements
  • Information about final utility readings
Always follow the guidance provided by GetLiving, as requirements can vary by building and tenancy.

Preparing for move-out

Before leaving your apartment, it’s sensible to:
  • Remove all personal belongings
  • Clean the property thoroughly
  • Check fixtures and fittings are in good condition
  • Report any outstanding maintenance issues
  • Return all key fobs and access devices
Failure to return fobs or leave the apartment in an agreed condition may result in charges.

Deposits and inspections

Get Living will arrange:
  • A move-out inspection
  • Any required follow-up actions
  • Deposit return or deductions, where applicable
Details about deposits, inspections, and timescales will be confirmed directly by GetLiving.
